Russian company to build a solar power plant in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region

On December 19, Akylbek Japarov, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, received representatives of the Russian company Unigreen Energy.

The parties discussed the implementation of a project for the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.

Representatives of the company informed the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers about the work done and noted that the approval of documents with the authorized bodies is currently being completed and preparatory work has begun at the solar power plant site.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that projects aimed at the development of renewable energy sources are a priority for the state, and therefore maximum efforts will be made to resolve issues that impede the implementation of the project.

In addition, he instructed to include this project in the plan of Kyrgyzstan’s priority projects for 2024.
