Korea to provide electric vehicles for Kyrgyzstan’s government agencies

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will help Kyrgyzstan’s government bodies replace their motor transport with electric vehicles. The project, to be implemented through KOICA grant funds, was discussed during a recent meeting between the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniyar Amangeldiev and the Director of the KOICA office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Lim So Yeon.

In the pilot stage, the project will provide electric vehicles for some of the country’s government bodies and Kyrgyzpochtasy (Kyrgyz Post) OJSC. The project will also install electric charging stations and share Korean experience in the development of electric transport.

Minister Amangeldiev emphasized that the project is fully aligned with the Kyrgyz government’s efforts to promote environmentally friendly modes of transport.
