Business Council of Kazakhstan and Croatia holds first meeting

The first meeting of the Business Council of Kazakhstan and Croatia was held in Zagreb on April 25 as part of a joint business forum with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Croatia.

During the event, Ulbosyn Sarybayeva, the representative of National Company Kazakh Invest, told Croatian businessmen about measures of state support for investments and mechanisms for protecting the rights of investors in Kazakhstan, inviting them to implement projects jointly.

The event’s purpose was to develop bilateral investment, trade, and economic cooperation. More than 100 representatives of Kazakhstani and Croatian companies attended.

During the event, Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, and Luka Burilović, President of the Croatian Economic Chamber, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and an Agreement on the establishment of the Business Council of Kazakhstan and Croatia. In addition, an Agreement on strategic cooperation was signed between Aspan Construction Company LLP and VS Engineering LLP.

“The development of economic and investment relations with Croatia is one of our work priorities. In 2023, the volume of mutual trade increased by almost 20%. We see significant potential in expanding partnership in the fields of construction, information technology, pharmaceuticals, food industry and trade,” Sarybayeva said.

Following the event, the business community discussed key aspects of the bilateral economic agenda, identified priority areas, and agreed to cooperate in areas such as energy, IT, tourism, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and the food industry.
