Afghanistan increases trade with Central Asian countries

According to the Afghan Ministry of Industry and Commerce, during the past ten months of the current solar year (which began in March 2024), trade between Afghanistan and five Central Asian countries reached $1.696 billion, including $112 million of Afghan exports and $1.584 billion of imports, TOLOnews reported.

Afghanistan exported to the Central Asian countries fresh and dried fruits, juices, talc stone, and agricultural products such as asafoetida, potatoes, and onions. Afghanistan’s imports included electricity, fuel, wheat flour, cooking oil, chemical fertilizers, and cement.

Afghanistan’s total trade in 2024 amounted to $12.422 billion, including $1.803 billion in exports and $10.619 billion in imports.
