King’s College London recently hosted the first-ever summit of the Central Asian Youth Alliance (CAYA) – a landmark event bringing together young people from Central Asian countries, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions, and experts in education and international cooperation, the Kyrgyz Embassy in London reported.
The Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Dogdurgul Kendirbaeva, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of youth initiatives for the future of the region.
During a panel session with the ambassadors of Central Asia, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UK highlighted the key role of youth in strengthening ties between countries and expressed support for initiatives aimed at fostering regional cooperation.
A special role in organizing the summit was played by the Kyrgyz Student Association in the UK, which actively contributed to the event’s success. Thanks to their efforts, the forum became a dynamic platform for discussions, networking, and the presentation of innovative ideas by Central Asian students.
The event also featured the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as a representative from the Embassy of Tajikistan, who shared their perspectives on youth cooperation and expressed support for student initiatives.
During the panel session “Diplomacy as a Tool for Strengthening Ties Between Central Asian Countries”, Muratbek Azymbakiev, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, joined the discussion via Zoom. His participation underscored the importance of diplomatic engagement in fostering regional unity and supporting youth-led initiatives.
Students from Central Asia studying in the UK presented their projects and ideas aimed at the region’s development, demonstrating their active civic engagement and commitment to progress.
This summit marked a significant step toward strengthening connections among Central Asian youth and creating a platform for future collaboration.
