The Euronews television channel opened its regional office in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, on December 18. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euronews Pedro Vargas and the Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva, Orda.kz reported with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
According to Balayeva, the launch of Euronews in Kazakhstan is not just an expansion of its geographical presence, but also a great opportunity to show the world the modern development of Kazakhstan.
“We will inform the international audience about the culture, economy and heritage of Kazakhstan, working with Kazakhstani entrepreneurs and artists, as well as creating original TV shows that will present the new realities and bright future of Kazakhstan,” Pedro Vargas said during his speech.
Euronews is currently working on creating 20 projects, including a show about culture, arts and lifestyle, a regional show about business and economics, and interviews with famous personalities of Central Asia.
The new office opens up new prospects for Kazakhstani journalists. The Euronews Academy project will organize training and master classes to improve the skills of Kazakh TV journalists.
