German companies expand investment in Kazakhstan

On August 19-21, a delegation of Kazakh Invest national company headed by the Chairman of the Board, Yerzhan Yelekeyev, visited Germany and held talks with major German companies.

As reported by Kazakh Invest, at a meeting with representatives of WIS Kunststoffe Gmbh, which plans to produce compounds and plastics in Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region, the company’s general director, Sigmar Roemhild, discussed plans to provide its products to Kazakhstani enterprises and the European market for use in the food, chemical, and automotive industries. At the moment, the company is conducting marketing research.

At a meeting with representatives of LINDIG Group and its subsidiaries Lift Air GmbH and Flight Design General Aviation GmbH, the owner of the group, Sven Lindig, told Kazakhstani representatives about his decision to open production of CT series ultralight aircraft in Kazakhstan. The project involves aircraft assembly with a subsequent increase in the degree of localization in the SEZ in Almaty. Currently, Flight Design Kazakhstan LLP, a joint venture with Virazh Group of Companies, is working on obtaining the necessary permits from the governmental authorities of Kazakhstan.

With Enertec Group Gmbh, the possibility of opening the company’s power equipment production in Kazakhstan was discussed. General Director Jürgen Böttcher discussed the growing demand for the company’s autonomous installations among medical institutions, small farms, and industrial facilities.

The Kazakh Invest delegation also visited Siemens Energy AG’s new gigawatt electrolyzer plant. The plant is the world’s first enterprise fully automated using robotics and digital technologies. During the visit, the company discussed plans to expand its presence in Kazakhstan.

Dr. Jorg Westfal, Senior Vice President of Schüco International KG, spoke about the subsidiary’s current activities in Kazakhstan and the country’s potential to become a leader in developing green metallurgy. One of the world’s largest producers of aluminum profiles is an essential supplier in the construction industry in Central Asia, and the company is currently exploring opportunities to implement projects with major Kazakhstani construction companies. Managing Director of Hansa Consortium Jürgen Grötzbach shared plans for developing transport infrastructure in Kazakhstan. The German investor plans to build an international cargo-passenger airport on the territory of SEZ “Khorgos—Eastern Gate”.
