Kazakhstan and Brazil strengthen cooperation

The third meeting of the Kazakh-Brazilian Business Council was held in Porto Alegre on October 14. Lucas Redeсker, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Brazilian National Congress; Bolat Nussupov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil; Marcel Biato, Ambassador of Brazil to Kazakhstan; and Marat Birimzhan, representative of JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST in the Americas participated.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format and opened with welcoming addresses from the Co-Chairs of the Business Council. During his speech, Birimzhan presented Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, mining, green energy, and transport infrastructure. He also presented measures to improve the investment climate, including legal protection and tax benefits for foreign investors, and expressed KAZAKH INVEST’s readiness to support investors at all stages of project implementation.

Ambassador Nussupov noted the advantages of Kazakh legislation aimed at supporting foreign investors and also cited successful examples of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the project of the Brazilian WEG to localize the production of motor gearboxes in Kazakhstan and the project of Savana Sementes for the production of soybeans. Representatives of the companies shared their positive business experiences in Kazakhstan, and Copacol announced plans to build a meat processing factory in Kazakhstan using Brazilian technologies.

During the meeting, several bilateral agreements were signed, including on the establishment of twinning relations between the Almaty region and the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The next meeting of the Business Council is scheduled for 2025 in Astana.
