Kazakhstan’s army ranked as the strongest in Central Asia, again

In the 2025 Military Strength Ranking released by the Global Firepower, Kazakhstan ranked 57th among the 145 countries listed — the best position compared to other Central Asian countries and one position up compared to the 2024 ranking.

Other Central Asian countries are ranked as follows: Uzbekistan is in 58th place, Turkmenistan in 77th place, Kyrgyzstan in 105th place, and Tajikistan in 108th place.

The first place in the ranking remains with the United States, Russia is in second place, and China in third place, followed by India and South Korea.

Last year, the army of Kazakhstan moved five positions up in the ranking — from the 63rd in 2023.

The Global Firepower ranks the nations of the world based on current available firepower. The ranking is based on each nation’s potential war-making capability across land, sea, and air fought by conventional means.
