The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China have signed a memorandum facilitating trips of organized tourist groups from China to Kyrgyzstan.
The document will contribute to the development of Kyrgyzstan’s tourism industry, stimulating the country’s economic growth.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, 127,956 Chinese citizens visited Kyrgyzstan in 2024, 56% more than in 2023, when this figure was 70,842.
China has included Kyrgyzstan in the list of countries recommended for visiting by individual Chinese tourists.
In October 2024, the government of Kyrgyzstan announced the introduction of a visa-free regime for organized tourist groups from China for up to 21 days. The move sought to increase the attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan for one of the world’s largest outbound tourism markets, China.
