The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Japan Mr. Erkinbek Osoev on July 4 in Tokyo took part in the second meeting of a business dialogue “Central Asia and Japan”.
The event was attended by Ambassadors of the Central Asian countries in Japan, President of the Japanese Association for Trade with Russia and the New Independent States (NIS) Mr. M.Iijima, representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Marubeni Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation and other Japanese entrepreneurs interested in business with Central Asia.
The objective of the business dialogue was to develop new contacts, exchange views and create a positive atmosphere in trade, investment and business between Central Asia and Japan.
The dialogue participants discussed a wide range of issues related to strengthening economic ties, expanding trade and investment, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the field of innovation and technology. The geopolitical significance of Central Asia, the rich natural resources of the region, prospects for cooperation in the energy sector, ecology and human resource development, and the importance of the first summit of heads of state of the “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue, which is planned to be held in August this year in Astana, were noted.
