A ceremony of laying the capsule for the future production of solar modules by the domestic investor Altyn Group LLP under the TGS-Solar brand took place in the Alatau SEZ in Almaty on July 17, Kazakh Invest national company reported.
The founder of Altyn Group, Jomart Mominbayev, thanked the Government of Kazakhstan for its assistance in the implementation of the project and also told about the production process of solar modules and planned production and sales volumes.
The future solar module plant worth 2.9 billion tenge will have a capacity of 150 MW per year. It will be equipped with modern equipment, including automatic module assembly lines, laser plasma cutters, and automatic welding machines. The power of one solar module will be 585 watts, while the planned output will be 250 thousand modules per year. The production will create more than 100 new jobs.
The project, implemented with the support of Kazakh Invest, aims to increase the share of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan’s electricity production. Currently, the share of renewable energy sources is 5.8%. By 2035, it is planned to increase it to 16%.
