On January 8, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon signed a decree declaring 2025-2030 the “Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development”.
According to a commentary to the presidential decree published on Rahmon’s official website, during the Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development, Tajikistan will take steps towards digitalization of the national economy and the development of artificial intelligence and innovative technologies.
As Tajikistan is taking steps towards the digitalization of all sectors of the national economy to ensure transparency of economic and financial relations, the presidential decree will help to boost this process in the next five years by improving the legal framework for the country’s transition to a digital economy.
Tajikistan will further develop digital infrastructure and data processing centers, create a national database, and fully digitalize state services.
The country will be working to introduce a widespread use of artificial intelligence in the provision of services and develop digital entrepreneurship and e-commerce.
The government will also focus on training of programmers and other specialists required for the development of the digital economy. Human capital will be developed through training and retraining of IT personnel at home and abroad.
