‘Treasures of Silk Road’ shown at Savitsky Museum in Nukus

On June 28, the Savitsky Museum in Nukus (Karakalpakstan) hosted the show “Treasures of the Silk Road,” a significant artistic event that revealed the splendor of the cultural heritage of the Eurasian region. The show featured an immersive exhibition (projections and “revival” of paintings on the wall of the museum building), a concert, and a presentation of the British art catalog “The Great Steppe Treasure”.

The exhibition was organized by the British non-profit organization Eurasian Creative Guild with the support of the director of the Savitsky State Museum of Art, Tigran Mkrtychev and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Uzbekistan).

On the walls of the Igor Savitsky Museum were shown unique paintings and photographs by artists from Great Britain, Lithuania, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan, who expressed their vision of the richness and diversity of visual images of the Eurasian space.

The exhibition showed works by Maria Yanovskaya, Rosalinda Abdykadyrova, Larissa Pak, Shaizada Bakenova, Olesya Davidovskaya, Maria Muchinskaya, Polina Lakhtina, and others.

It was not just a demonstration of paintings, but a real immersion in the world of art, where each painting was a window into the magnificent cultural heritage of the region. Classical paintings from the museum collection were shown along with the works by contemporary artists.

The musical accompaniment of projections in the night darkness and an urbanistic lighting created the effect of complete immersion. “It was an incredible experience to be immersed in the cultural heritage of Eurasia. Seeing the exhibition in such a unique place as the Igor Savitsky Museum was truly exciting. I thank the organizers for the opportunity to plunge into this world of art and history!” Gennady Gorovoy, a guest from Israel, commented.

The exhibition was part of the 8th international festival Eurasian Creative Week (June 22-29). The event was attended by more than 100 guests, including residents of Nukus and participants from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Great Britain, Belarus, Finland, and Israel.
