The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan, the State Business Incubator, and the public organization Toji Nurafshon (Tajikistan Venture Capital) hosted the Startupstan Summit 2024 in Dushanbe on October 12-13.
The Startupstan Summit 2024 is a platform to foster partnerships among Central Asian countries and development partners to drive economic growth and innovation through cooperation. The event addressed gaps and facilitated the development of Tajikistan’s startup ecosystem, enhanced regional cooperation, and promoted investment-driven growth.
“We are proud to support both venture capital and startup ecosystems across Central Asia, which facilitates regional dialogue through local partners,” said John P. Riordan, Mission Director of USAID Tajikistan. “Building a local venture capital ecosystem and linking it to regional ecosystems will raise awareness and help startups access financing while offering successful entrepreneurs and investors new investment opportunities.”
The two-day event brought together key players in the venture capital and startup ecosystem across the region, including 60 leaders of local and regional startups, venture capital funds, technical experts, special guests, and government authorities.
