Britain’s Silk Road Media to develop Karakalpakstan’s tourism brand

On April 6, the British holding Silk Road Media and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing the international tourism brand of this autonomous region in northwestern Uzbekistan. The signing ceremony was held as part of the Aral Culture Summit in Nukus, emphasizing the importance of the project.

At the signing ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rasul Zarikeyev stated: “We are pleased with the participation of international colleagues and are ready to use the best experience to create a strong brand of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.”

The head of the Silk Road Media holding Marat Akhmedjanov also noted that the region has great potential and many interesting growth points.

The signing was also attended by Uzbekistan Tourism Ambassador in the UK, Sophie Ibbotson and Silk Road Media Advisor Taina Kaunis.
