Chinese company to build a solar power plant in Uzbekistan

On November 29, at the Uzbek Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Investment Agreement for the construction of a 300 MW solar power plant and a 75 MW energy storage system in the Karmana district of the Navoi region of Uzbekistan was signed. 

The ceremony was attended by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, and Zo Duyun, General Director of Sinoma EC International Investment Co., Ltd. 

The project will be another major step towards the implementation of the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy, which aims to increase the share of renewable energy sources to 25,000 megawatts and their share in the country’s total energy consumption to 40%.

Sinoma EC International Investment Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Sinoma Energy Conservation Co., Ltd., established in 1987. The company’s capitalization is $600 billion. The company specializes in the construction of WHR power plants using the heat from industrial gas exhausts, as well as power plants based on biomass, geothermal and solar energy. The company’s portfolio includes more than 1,000 projects implemented worldwide.
