On January 15, a conference entitled “International Year of Peace and Trust: Cooperation of Turkmenistan with the International Community” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by parliament and government members, heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.
The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the Resolution to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, at the proposal of Turkmenistan.
On January 9, the first meeting of the Organizational State Committee on holding high-level events on the occasion of declaring 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan was held under the chairmanship of the National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The meeting addressed preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of neutrality and consultations with UN structural units on the development of the Concept of Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust and its implementation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov emphasized that Turkmenistan awaits the support of neutral and non-aligned countries, as well as all States that share the principles of non-interference and non-participation in conflicts, in uniting their capacities, experience and expertise to create conditions for a transition to peaceful political and diplomatic methods of resolving existing and potential conflicts.
