Gazprom to supply natural gas to Kyrgyzstan until 2040

Long-term contracts for Russian natural gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan have been signed between Gazprom Export and Gazprom Kyrgyzstan.

Long-term contracts for gas supplies have also been concluded between Gazprom Kyrgyzstan and two large gas consumers in Kyrgyzstan — Electric Stations and the Bishkekteploenergo municipal heating enterprise.

Gazprom Kyrgyzstan is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom and an exclusive importer of natural gas to Kyrgyzstan and the owner of the Central Asian country’s gas transmission and distribution systems.

The contracts were signed on June 7 in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024.

Supplies under the new contracts will be carried out in 2025–2040.

On the same day, Gazprom and Kazakhstan’s national company QazaqGaz signed long-term contracts for the transmission of Russian natural gas across Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The contracts will be effective from 2025 through 2040.
