Hungarian company establishing agro-industrial park in Kazakhstan

Hungary’s Globalia Ltd is creating an agricultural industrial park in Kazakhstan’s Akmola region using the latest Hungarian agricultural technologies, the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture reported.

The agro-park will accommodate different types of agribusiness activities, demonstrating advanced agricultural practices, sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies, ensuring traceability of products from the producer to the end consumer, “from farm to table”. It is expected that projects implemented in the agro-park will be sustainable and will not require special funding.

In the first 2-3 years, the agro-park plans to start projects to develop fish farming, increase the role of soil in adapting to climate change, build a feed mill, and open a demonstration and experimental station for growing varieties of various plants. Also in the agro-park, Kazakhstani producers and supply chain participants will be able to learn new technologies, including the Carbon Farming system, which helps to capture and accumulate CO2 from the soil. The plans also include the creation of seed production using Hungarian technology.
