Kazakhstan and China plan new container trains to link Central Asia and China

KTZ Express, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), and major Chinese operator Yiwu Timex have discussed expanding cooperation in the field of international transportation with a focus on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and new logistics services for deliveries to Central Asian countries, the KTZ press service reported.

Both companies plan to launch additional high-speed container trains to the region, significantly reducing cargo delivery times and strengthen trade ties between China, Central Asia, and other partners, including Russia.

The meeting also addressed the development of shipbuilding for Caspian transportation and modernization of port and railway infrastructure in Aktau, Kazakhstan. This integrated approach to improving the transport network provides favorable conditions for international transit and contributes to further economic growth.

Yiwu Timex, known for its large-scale logistics projects, has long established itself as a strategic player in cargo transportation from Zhejiang Province to Europe and Central Asia. The expansion of partnership relations with KTZ Express is aimed not only at improving the efficiency of transportation, but also at strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as an international transit hub.
