Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan sign roadmap for small hydropower plants construction

As part of the visit of Adylbek Kasymaliyev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, to Kazakhstan on February 25, the Kazakh and Kyrgyz energy ministries signed a roadmap for construction of small hydroelectric power plants in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Kazakh Energy Ministry, the initiative is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector and developing the hydropower potential of Kyrgyzstan.

Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev emphasized Kazakhstan’s consistent efforts aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in the energy sector. “We consider this as a guarantee of stability and prosperity for all of Central Asia. The signing of the roadmap with Kyrgyzstan is another confirmation of our commitment to this course. We are ready to share our experience and resources to build an energy-independent future together,” he said.
