Kazakhstan and Russia open agro-industrial technology center

On April 2, the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan and the Russian Academy of Sciences officially opened the Kazakh-Russian Center for Advanced Technologies in the Agro-Industrial Complex.

According to the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture, the new center will be located in Almaty and will operate in close cooperation with leading research institutes of Kazakhstan and Russia. It will provide a platform for exchanging experiences, developing innovative solutions, and introducing high-tech approaches to agriculture.

The center’s activities will be aimed at:

– conducting joint scientific research and developing projects in the field of genomic selection of agricultural crops

– developing digital technologies in the agro-industrial complex in order to introduce innovative technologies to improve agricultural productivity

– introducing sustainable agricultural technologies, including carbon and carbon-saving farming technologies, to improve environmental safety and sustainability of agricultural production

– developing technologies for processing agricultural crops to create new products with high added value.

The center is expected to become a catalyst for the creation of new start-ups in the field of agricultural technologies, strengthening the scientific and technological potential of both Kazakhstan and Russia.

Joint research and development will provide new impetus for scaling up innovative solutions that will significantly improve food security and agricultural sustainability in both countries.
