On March 16, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom, Ulan Djusupov, participated in a roundtable discussion on Central Asia and a cultural program organized by Cambridge University with the support of the embassies of Central Asian countries.
The roundtable gathered ambassadors of Central Asian countries, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Lord John Waverley, a member of the UK House of Lords, as well as representatives from Cambridge University, other leading British academic institutions, and prominent UK experts on Central Asia.
The roundtable covered key issues related to economic cooperation, sustainable development, security, and regional stability in Central Asia. Participants exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation to ensure long-term peace and prosperity in the region.
Ambassador Djusupov spoke in detail about the recent historic event – the signing of the Border Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, which took place on March 13, 2025, in the city of Bishkek. He emphasized that this agreement marks a significant step toward ensuring peace and stability in the region, demonstrating the political will of both countries’ leaders to resolve complex issues through dialogue and mutual understanding.
Participants praised the significance of the signed Agreement, highlighting its crucial role in strengthening regional stability and security, as well as fostering prosperity and sustainable development in Central Asia.
Ambassador Djusupov also shared information on the achievements of the Kyrgyz Republic in economic and social sectors, emphasizing the country’s commitment to strengthening international ties in areas such as science, education, and investment.
The second part of the event featured a festive concert dedicated to Nowruz, an important cultural tradition for the peoples of Central Asia.
