Kyrgyz military win competitions in terrain orienteering in Kazakhstan

As part of the operational-tactical command and staff military exercise Birlestik-2024, military sports competitions in terrain orienteering were held at the Oymasha training ground in Kazakhstan.

As reported by the Kazakh Defense Ministry, military personnel from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participated, while the team of the host country, Kazakhstan, performed outside the competition.

The competition took place on terrain unfamiliar to the participating teams. The length of each route was the same – up to 5 km.

The team of Kyrgyzstan won the competition. Uzbekistan was second and Azerbaijan was third.

The Birlestik-2024 (Association-2024) military drills with the participation of military personnel from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan finished on July 17. The exercises were held on the shores of the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan’s western Manghystau region.

Up to 4,000 military personnel from the five countries and almost 700 pieces of military equipment and vehicles participated in the exercises.
