Kyrgyzstan’s labor market needs more blue-collar workers

Kyrgyzstan now has 7,410 job vacancies, including 6,164 blue-collar jobs and 1,246 office jobs, according to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration. Two months ago, on February 1, 2025, Kyrgyzstan had 6,305 job vacancies.

The blue-collar job vacancies include:

  • Seamstresses
  • Mechanics
  • Welders
  • Construction workers
  • Drivers
  • Salespeople
  • Services workers (hairdressers, manicurists, waiters, cosmetologists, security guards, couriers, nurses, cooks, bakers)

The office job vacancies include:

  • Kindergarten and secondary school teachers
  • Medical workers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, massage therapists)
  • Managers
  • Accountants
  • Municipal employees
  • Lawyers
  • Economists
  • Psychologists
  • Engineers
  • IT specialists

Since the beginning of the year, a total of 39,260 people have sought assistance from the ministry’s employment service and it has helped over 8,300 of them to get employed.

To enhance job seekers’ competitiveness in the labor market, the employment service has sent 2,164 people for vocational training in in-demand professions.

According to the National Statistical Committee, the average monthly wages in various sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy are as follows:

  • Financial sector – 68,725 KGS (about $785)
  • Industry – 61,550 KGS ($703)
  • Transport – 48,034 KGS ($548)
  • Trade – 46,437 KGS ($530)
  • Construction – 45,277 KGS ($517)
  • Services – 29,922 KGS ($341)
  • Healthcare – 26,013 KGS ($297)
  • Education – 25,555 KGS ($292)
