Plant assembling Chinese trucks opened in Kyrgyzstan

A plant for the assembly of China’s SHACMAN heavy trucks and special-purpose vehicles (concrete mixers) has opened in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek.

At the opening ceremony on August 30, the First Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Mirlanbek Baigonchokov said that the construction of the plant was an important contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan’s automobile industry.

An agreement on the assembly plant construction was signed between Kyrgyzstan’s Shumkar OJSC and China’s Xian Yuanchao company as part of the first state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to China last year.

The plant, which has created 100 jobs, will annually manufacture 1,200 vehicles, meeting the needs of the domestic market. The plant will also export trucks to other CIS countries.
