Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, met with Seung-Chan Jung, the Managing Director of Samsung C&T Corporation in Turkey and Central and Eastern Europe. During the meeting, the parties discussed the company’s plans for cooperation in construction and modernization of energy facilities in Kazakhstan and in renewable energy sources.
Samsung C&T Corporation is a South Korean multinational conglomerate with business interests in construction, engineering, tourism, and trade.
As reported by Kazakh Invest national company, representatives of Samsung C&T Corporation announced their intention to implement projects in the field of renewable energy sources and their storage, including through the production of solar energy and specialized batteries. The corporation also expressed its interest in building and modernizing energy facilities in Kazakhstan.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the implementation of future projects in the energy sector.
“More than 700 companies with South Korean capital are successfully operating in Kazakhstan, including your company. South Korea is among the top 5 major investor countries in the economy of Kazakhstan. In this regard, developing investment relations between our countries is one of the priorities of our work. We are ready to provide comprehensive support to Samsung C&T Corporation in implementing investment and contract activities through new projects,” Ospankulov said.
