Late in June, the largest delegation in the U.S.-Tajikistan Business Council’s history visited Tajikistan. During the two-day mission, over thirty representatives of U.S. medical, financial, mining equipment, franchising services, and digitalization firms met with leading Tajik businesses and government officials to identify opportunities, create partnerships, and increase trade and investment between the United States and Tajikistan, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe reported.
U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan Manuel Micaller welcomed the delegation, saying that the United States remains committed to deepening its private-sector investment in Tajikistan’s economy by exploring potential opportunities for U.S. businesses to establish themselves in Tajikistan.
“We have worked closely with the Government of Tajikistan to build on our robust cooperation to secure Tajikistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The United States and Tajikistan have also worked to support the creation of an improved investment climate to attract further U.S. and international investment to develop and diversify Tajikistan’s economy, a key priority of the Tajik Government and people,” the ambassador said.
He added that the U.S. Embassy will continue to work with the U.S.-Tajikistan Business Council and other public and private sector partners to strengthen economic and trade relationships between the United States and Tajikistan, including by opening doors to new export opportunities for U.S. companies and attracting new investment to Tajikistan.
