On November 10-11, a delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, visited Qatar.

The Uzbek delegation participated in the inaugural meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and attended the Uzbek-Qatari Business Forum, engaging in discussions with leaders from Qatar’s key companies.

In his opening remarks at the Commission meeting, Kudratov emphasized the importance of fully unlocking the potential of Uzbek-Qatari cooperation in IT, trade, investment, agriculture, environmental protection, transport and logistics, education, healthcare, culture, and tourism. Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, also noted the notable rise in trade and economic cooperation, Qatari businesses’ trust in Uzbekistan, and expressed readiness to support and add new initiatives to the cooperation agenda.

The Uzbek-Qatari Business Forum gathered over 100 representatives from leading companies of both countries. The Uzbek delegation showcased unique investment opportunities in Uzbekistan, presenting mutually beneficial projects in promising fields: textiles, food production, agriculture, mining, metallurgy, energy, petrochemicals, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, transport, and logistics, alongside opportunities available through Uzbekistan’s privatization program.

Uzbekistan expressed its commitment to providing support at every stage, from identifying investment opportunities to establishing and developing businesses.

On the sidelines of the visit, Minister Kudratov also met with executives from major Qatari companies specializing in spheres of gas chemistry, energy, IT, healthcare, tourism, livestock, and construction materials.
